How to connect STAR MC-Label3 to Athena VMS

1. Download the StarQuickSetup app. Visitor Management System app here

2. Plug in and turn on the printer. 

3. Connect to the printer bluetooth through the iPad > Settings > Bluetooth



4. Open the StarQuickSetup App and press ‘Selected Printer’





5. In the ‘Select Printer’ Section you can choose the printer you want the Access Control Station to connect to 

  • Press ‘Yes’
  • If there are more than one printer in the area ensure the SN on the bottom of the printer is the printer you are connecting the iPad to. 
  • Once you select the printer you are connecting to, it will take you back to the home screen of the StarQuickSetup app. 


6. On the main screen of the StartQuickSetup press ‘Printer Settings’



7. Press ‘Print Media Settings’ and follow the prompts



8. Select the ‘Die Cut Label’ 


  • Press ‘Next’ 


9. Select the ‘Gap Sensor’ setting 


  • Press ‘Next’


10. Adjust the ‘Paper Guide’ 


  • Press ‘Next’


11. Load Die cut label roll


  • Press ‘Next’


12. Adjust the sensor position so that is is the center of the printer distribution lane


  • Press ‘Apply’


13. Pull the labels through the front of the printer and close the printer



14. Test the print results to ensure the cut is one at a time


  • Press ‘Cut in the correct position’ 


15. You have now completed the setup of the printer


  • Press ‘OK’ and leave the StarQuickSetup app. 


16. Make sure there is a blue light on the front of the printer.

17. Open the Entrance Pass app on the Access Control Station and double tap the owl icon in the to prompt the settings page. 


  • Press ‘Go to Settings’


18. Enter in the Admin password to access the Athena Entrance Pass app settings

  • Enter in your admin password and press ‘OK’


19. Press ‘Printer Settings’



20. Press ‘Label Printer Settings’ 



21. Select the printer you want to connect to 


  • If there is more than one printer in the area the bluetooth will show them all. Make sure you select the correct printer based off of the serial number on the bottom of the printer you are wanting to connect to. 
  • Exit the settings and go back to the Access Control screen.


22. Test print a badge by creating a test Visitor and print the badge



23. Test badge should look like the following
