WDS is comprised of 3 components

  1. Controller iPad - LiDAR, High Resolution Camera, and processing power, either mounted on the wall, hanging from the ceiling, or on a designated stand.

  2. Operator iPad (optional) - Used by security personnel for reviewing alerts and completing IRRs, as needed. Location is based on customer needs and walk-through documentation (ref. Pre-Setup)

  3. CEIA OpenGate system - Third-party metal detection poles. Reference WDS Installation section for CEIA specifications for placement and use.

  • Install batteries, and power on the OpenGate poles via the switch under the battery cover on each pole

  • If poles do not boot to green lights after one minute, troubleshoot or contact Support

Screening Operation
  • The Screener should be standing 5 - 8 feet away from the poles

  • If the lights on the poles remain green, the individual is clear and can proceed through the checkpoint

  • If the lights turn red then the individual needs to be sent for secondary screening. An auditory alarm may also be enabled.

Secondary Screening
  • Choose what method is best for your organization

    • Circular carousel method

    • Separate and wand

  • At secondary screening the individual should empty their pockets and their bags should be checked to determine the source of the alarm

Portability
  • Both the iPads and OpenGate are highly portable, with the poles weighing approximately 25 lbs. each

  • When relocating the WDS, considerations should be made concerning interference, such as moving metal and electronic noise (e.g. metal doors, wheel chairs, etc.)
